Idling away, bath time and vanilla custard

Sitting at the dining table, idling away while cooling the hot custard and watching 'When Harry met Sally'. I must admit I am not a big fan of romcoms but it felt good not doing anything for a few minutes.

During bath time I was singing a sad song and explaining the pretext to kids and Bunny improvised it as he wanted it to be a bit on happy side and giving it a happy ending.

Munching on custard for dessert after dinner.

Recipe, Finding a class and massage

- I found a recipe for 'gulab jamun' which the kids are very fond of. I am happy to find a simple recipe which doesn't need more than 5 ingredients during lock down period. I will need to give it a try sooner.

- Found a course online which I started soon. I will need to complete by this weekend.
- Neck massage by Honey after a very long day although he was also quite tired. I very much needed it.

Groceries, matinee and panipuri

It's pickles season here and MIL and I were thinking to make some mango pickle. I went out to bring some ingredients. There were many restrictions at the store too. It was a bit disheartening and at the same time encouraging how people were trying to keep social distancing.

Watching Parineeta, movie based on an old classic bengali nove. I started wishing to read the novel too.

Panipuris are prevalent these days at home as it's a raw mango season. Tasting both sour and sweet versions was some fun.

Hug, care and laugh

Teetee came into my lap after he woke up and gave a long hug as he knew that I was a bit sad over a few things.

I happened to fall asleep while reading, Bunny who was playing near by came with a blanket and put over me with a kiss.

Teetee's eyes - it was wonderful watching his surprise turned into a laugh and ended with two dimples on his cheeks.

Cleared up, love and consoling

Seeing a cleared up front garden. I am planning to plant new rose stems and a coriander patch.

Choosing all the loved and treasured memories instead of negative thoughts during a restless period after a domestic fight with my husband. The times are tough and there are many changes going on. I am thankful for the love I find from my family and the love within me for them.

Teetee was rather upset after losing a football match between 4 of us. He was crying so Honey offered him a short match between both of them just to cheer Teetee.

Coffee, prompt reply and pizza

I couldn't have morning coffee as I got up late and busy making breakfast and lunch for Honey while he was leaving for office. I juggled a bit so that I can sip my coffee with Honey having his breakfast before he left for work.

A prompt reply from bank manager processing our request. Honestly I didn't expect that happening so fast.

It was pizza for dinner and we all munched away our own home made pizzas.

Plants, counting and cheer up

New plants came out of the seeds we planted 2 weeks ago. Hoping to see tomatoes in the coming weeks.

Teetee counted 3 times 7 in his own way. I liked his method very much.

Four of us playing football and cheering up a bit after disappointing news about Honey's job transfer.

Book, Story and Honking

I started reading 'Alchemist' again. Reading a book second time is rather different and I stumbled upon my own reactions and emotions I had while reading it for the first time 14 years ago.

Teetee was upset for something his brother did. I relayed what I have been reading to him and for a few moments he seemed to be immersed in what I was saying.

We were waiting for Honey to be back from work as it was already very late in the evening. I heard the honking outside the gate and felt relieved that he was home.

Sunday breakfast, gift and thunders

An elaborate breakfast on Sunday morning with the family. Bunny tasted salad onions for the first time and he liked them a lot. Teetee tried but he preferred to not have them.

Honey went away to bring some groceries and kitchen staples. He came back with a brand new blender as mother's day gift. My mixer was broken and I was trying to get it fixed, but with new one still we will try to get it fixed and give away.

Sharp and loud thunders after a sandstorm in another orange evening. We had some homemade pop-corn watching the sandy sky turned into gray showers.

Reminder, coffee and movie night

Bunny is very fond of Saturday movie nights. He asked me the date on Saturday a few days ago. When he woke up in the morning he reminded me it was 9th and he was supposed to have a movie night. He reminded his love for popcorn on movie night.

A much needed coffee to aid a very busy day.

Watching 'Mega Mind' with kids while they were insisting us to have some popcorn.

Play, recipe and help

We played an elaborate game of Jenga late morning after the online classes.

Found cake recipes for upcoming birthday at home.

Teetee helping me while prepping dinner.

Comment, flower moon and holy basil

The morning was not really great with a broken blender. I was rather sad and then TeeTee commented sitting in chair that how beautiful today is and asked if he can take off from online classes(wink). Aha! I thought to give the day a chance again.

Super flower moon rising above the horizon and we all stole a glance again before sleeping.

Kishori, our electrician, handed over a holy basil plant as a reply to a request made long back. I felt it as a blessing or good sign from the above. I lighted a diya and incense as an offering. I will need to take real care of this plant.

Expert, Yell and Monkey

Bunny asking 'Mumma, How do you do this like a chef expert?' while I was chopping onions. Later he set up a pretend-play restaurant and made us sandwiches along with his brother.

Stopping an urge to yell while my son cried during busy hours in the morning.

Teetee saw a monkey walking down the wall where I was watering the plants and cried out to me to look out. He was very proud of himself that he saved me from a monkey.

Class, dust storm and Samosa

Learning online.

There was a dust storm in the afternoon, the half of sky was sunny and the other half was pitch black. The Sun had to go away and there was a rain again.

Samosas as evening snack. Bunny joining in, even though he refused to eat at first.

Petrichor, Hailstorm and orange skies

We were indoors as the heat was too much. Then it all went dark and cloudy. When Teetee and Bunny got outside it started with light drizzle. Then Bunny said he liked the smell all around. I tried to tell him it had a name 'petrichor' and he said he liked the name too.

Hell of a hailstorm. The black road after the rain got a white carpet of hailstones. It was such a wonder for kids. I enjoyed it along with them.

As part of our lockdown routine, we all went onto the terrace to play football. It was then the sky turned a really deep orange hue.

Tray, hair cut and a thumbs-up

In our 13 year old washing machine, the additives tray couldn't be fully opened and I had to use the soap dispenser tray for additives too. We wanted to fix it but were not able to due to Covid-19 lockdown. Today technician visited before 8 AM curfew and fixed the issue.Once I opened it I realized what I was missing actually.

I gave a haircut to my elder son, Teetee, after a month of persuasion. He couldn't carry his long hair finally due to increasing summer heat and gave into my words. It was third hair cut I did in this Covid-19 lockdown.

Teetee gave me a thumbs-up for the chola-bhatura I made for lunch. He couldn't say as his mouth was full.

Watering plants, birds and little help

We planted coriander and tomatoes from seeds two weeks back and kids take turns to water the seed pots. Yesterday kids saw seeds sprouting. They were so excited!! A motivation to continue watering the plants.

A flock of green parrots in the evening sky.

Honey started taking care of kids and getting them ready in the morning so that I can take care of kitchen and breakfast. I really appreciate that help as they get ready by the time online school starts.

Sleep laugh, extended cuddles and ice cream

Bunny, my younger son, chuckles while sleeping. He did again before he woke up. I am very curious to see what he dreams.

Cuddles with kids in the morning and then in the afternoon.

Afternoon ice-cream, while eating kids asked me if it's the world's best ice-cream. They made sure to tell Honey who brought it with groceries, in the first place.
